I am actually not angry about anything. It is an odd state to do a journal in, but whatever. We are back on The Wheel, and have turned Shella Motti loose, so some cause to relax I suppose.

When we arrived on Susevfi, we were essentially waiting to hear back from the Red Scourge. Given the lack of anything else to do, Sheela brought up again she would like to do a Safari. She was keen to go with me, but I noted lacked much in the way of funds, when she pointed out they were mostly for a guide, and I could act as a guide. I could not really argue that. Jek reminded us we may have to leave on short notice when Ero heard back from the Red Scourge, but Sheela was steadfast…and I was not doing anything better. Greegan, ever ready to impress Sheela, decided to go, and of course brought Sigma. Cam of the Clones wanted to go…Lucky did initially but had to baby-sit Shella.

Given the choice, Sheela decided to hunt Ursupine, the big quilled carnivores on Susevfi rather than the peaceful but tough herbivores. We set up a spot near a lake and waited. We did not wait too long before a pair managed to creep up on Sigma and Greegan, Greegan was attacked suddenly, but I waylaid the other one with a shot before it could get close enough to make shooting dangerous. It charged at me in the water while the others focused their fire on the one on Greegan. Sheela, Cam, and Sigma all got solid hits on it, but Sigma accidentally singed Greegan as well, which caused some agitation for Cam. Sigma’s shot did encourage the beast to attack him, which was for the best. Greegan got a parting shot with his wrench and Cam hit it, but Sheela finished it off. Turning their attention to mine, It got a hard lick in on me, I smacked it with my eyestalk, and I think Cam finished it off.

[Editor’s Note: While Master Dumaw was off slaughtering native fauna at random, Jek Hebrides and crew with any sense of responsibility got a visitor from one of Ero Rameeda’s associates. The Empire has apparently stepped up their plans for Susevfi, and she needed someone to meet with two specific other local powers, Meevo Chekkoo and Isamer Lambeer, to intercept before they signed deals with the Empire. Of course, we had to wait for Master Dumaw and his cronies to get back and lost precious time. –R5-D7]

When we got back, we found that Jek had gotten a visitor from Ero, and two Bounty Hunters on her payroll were at the Sunrise. Two local lords, Meevo Chekkoo (who was involved with Safari) and Isamer Lambeer (who oversaw Mining) were going to receive emissaries from the Empire to make deals to get them more pull on Susevfi. It was typical Imperial divide and conquer. Ero wanted us to talk to them first and convince them to not agree. She offered us the assistance of a pair of Bounty Hunters (now at the Sunrise) she had on retainer, Larc Silonn and ZZ. ZZ was the droid that was at the Bounty Hunting Office on Ryloth. Due to Sheela’s safari (not that she had any way to know) we were short on time, so we split into two groups. Jek (being more urbane) was to spearhead the talks with Isamer, along with Larc (who had met her in the past), Namri (who could use her force abilities if needed), Sigma Seven (I guess because they wanted to split Masters and Droids) and R5 (so I would stop carrying him over my head threatening him). For Meevo, fellow Rodians Sheela and Greegan would be sent, along with ZZ and me.

Meevo was on planet, so we took ground vehicles, leaving Jek’s team with the Sunrise. ZZ had a Swoop, while Sheela took a BARC Speeder, Greegan his Wheelbike, and I a STAP. The shadows were long on the savanna when we arrived at Meevo’s compound. It was heavily guarded, and the guards were naturally suspicious of four heavily armed goons showing up in the evening, but I told them our business and they let us in.

Meevo met us just inside, standing near one of his trophies. I gave my best speech explaining, you know, that the Empire had a dark history with dealing with non humans. Meevo, remarkably, and perhaps depressingly, knew about that, and knew he would likely be betrayed by the Empire, which lost him much esteem in my eyes. I do not understand those who would deliberately seek to be king of the refuse pile if they sell their house. Anyway, Greegan spoke up and began speaking to his pride, and I sorta played off what he said. ZZ added a little. In the end, we managed to make him agree to speak to Ero about it. At first he wanted to meet her after meeting with the Empire, but then he changed his mind and said he wanted to see her that night. I am not sure if that was a good or bad thing. Anyway, mission accomplished, we got back on the vehicles and returned to Yumfaal.

[Editor’s Note: My team took the Sunrise to a mining base on a nearby asteroid around Suarbi Seven. The base was heavily guarded, unsurprising with the pirates known to prowl the system, and the guards were understandably skeptical of our intentions. Still Jek Hebrides name dropped Ero Rameeda and they agreed to meet us. I confess I never considered the size of the Sunrise until Namri Kaan had to try and park it at the asteroid. It is quite a large ship, probably the same size as my Former Master Toodly’s ship The Glittering Mirage. Anyway, we left the ship under heavy guard and traveled to meet Isamer Lambeer. Isamer Lambeer was an odd race I did not recognize. She was somewhat to the point, but unacceptably so. My Former Master Toodly would have liked her. I wonder why I am thinking of Former Master Toodly so much. Probably to avoid thinking about my Former Master Jonco.

An unacceptable digression. Anyway Isamer Lambeer knew what we were there for and what we wanted. Still, she had Jek Hebrides lay out our side. Isamer Lambeer recognized Larc Silonn, which was a point in our favor for adding legitimacy. I was most pleased when Jek Hebrides called me up to show the data we had! I felt quite useful. I am sure I will get over it. In addition to the evidence of collusion with pirates, Isamer Lambeer wisely (again, showing greater wisdom than Former Master Toodly) pointed out the apparent inevitability of Imperial rule. I seized the opportunity to play back some comments from a certain Imperial customs officer who was talking down to the non humans at Eriadu and seeking to get Namri Kaan and Elili Shill separated. This clearly angered Isamer Lambeer, and seemed to be the push to take her over the line. She recorded a message for Ero Rameeda, marking the first time anyone’s comments have ever been knowingly recorded by me. I need to work with Sigma and see if he can surreptitiously record things for me at times since he has better equipment…for some strange reason. Certainly, he is far more talented at recording in the visual medium. Surprisingly so. Greegan clearly showed great foresight in giving Sigma such unexpected skills.

There I go digressing again. Whose journal is this, anyway? I don’t need a journal.

After the meeting, we returned to the ship. I had Sigma quiz Namri Kaan about the motives of Isamer Lambeer and her guards, you know since we had a handy Jedi. She did not bother with the guards. She is not going to live another decade unless she learns to be a lot more careful and a lot more willing to check these things. Any one could have been an Imperial spy. It is certainly apparent that she lacked formal proper Jedi training.

Also why are none of these people able to understand Binary besides Greegan, Master Dumaw, and Sigma. There are probably farmboys on backwater planets that know Binary. Master Dumaw is a moron that could be outfoxed by a hamster and he can speak it. Who knows? –R5-D7.]

The Sunrise returned, and it was time to wait again. Fortunately, it was not long. Ero contacted us saying the Red Scourge had agreed to meet us on The Wheel. We picked her and her Seneschal up and left very quickly. The trip there was fairly uneventful. Greegan and the Droids did not have enough droid parts to cause too much trouble. I mostly kept an eye on Ero. She did play holochess with Jek some, and they discussed what Meevo and Isamer had discussed about the Imperial potential arrival at Susevfi. I believe if that happens, she will be relying on us more than ever.

I hope it does not happen.

We arrived back at the Wheel. Lucky walked Shella Motti to where she could get the funds to pay us, and we said our goodbyes. Greegan took Sigma back to the Moons of Iego so they could both get both massages of their own sort. Sheela went along with him. Given R5 was perking up when Greegan mentioned that and disappeared a few minutes after he left, I suspect he tailed along for the ride. [Editor’s Note: Don’t judge me. –R5-D7]. Jek went to Hazard to go see if he could meet that girl, or possibly be stalked by a Bettie-Bot again. I went with Ero to go gambling. I think I saw Nika there while I was there…I had to, uh, keep an eye on Ero.

I wonder what kind of trouble we are going to get into here this time.
